Fill each list appropriately with LocalisationHash type entries, I personally followed the same ones as the chinese Type 59 Repeat the operation until you have 4 entries in the Filters listģe. Will post again here if I manage to not only find the damned file, but also modify it successfully.I recreate these EXACT steps and I able to successfully make the Type-80-II appear and switch it over to BLUFOR:Īdded property value UnitTypeTokens, filled the list with one random spec with a LocalisationHash type.Īdded property value Filters, which is filled as such:ģa. So I won't even know if I am modifying the correct file because of how awful this system is. Well mate, I checked and it wasn't there, but you gave me enough heart to keep looking through the much older folders and I think I've got it now, so my thanks to you.įor any of the poor souls in future years trying to find an answer to the question posed by this thread, the majority (perhaps all?) of unit localization is to be found in \WarGame\PC\430000239\430000243, in ZZ_Win (of course) under "unites.dic"ĮDIT: Scratch that, not only is that folder likely NOT the correct one (and therefore not the correct file), but my modding suite doesn't even seem to make permanent changes to the localization files it edits, despite clearly modifying the file in some way. Since they haven't added new units or campaigns they don't need to change names. Originally posted by md1453:the last time I moded the localization was in folder \Data\WARGAME\PC\510061340\510064564. So does anyone know the current method of changing unit names (and weapon names, any and all localization)? If anyone could help me, I would be supremely grateful. No idea, and there is of course no documentation or up-to-date guides to help me for this purpose. ![]() Rinse and repeat for all the recent (5-digit 4-number series) folders I have absolutely no idea what I am doing wrong or where the correct ZZ_Win file is, or if editing unit names has to be done through a different method now. I load it up in the mod suite and find absolutely nothing in the file. I figure, oKay, I'll just see if the 48574\49125 ZZ_Win file works. First of all the file is not in the usual 49125 folder. Okay, fair enough, localization being stored in a different folder is no big deal, right?Īpparently it is a big deal. After some searching, I found some posts on the eugen forums that told me I had to edit a different file in possibly a different folder, "ZZ_Win". This was done easily enough in every regard except the unit name, which I found no way to change in the usual NDF_win file. Hey, so I've been modding this game for a little while now and have for the most part gotten the hang of the mod suite just fine (note: current folder is \Data\WarGame\PC\49125 and every single guide out there is horrifically obsolete regarding this) but have ran into issues with changing the names of units ingame.Īs part of a general effort to change decks to reflect realistic and/or more plausible Cold War OOBs, I've changed/rerolled Light Riflemen (1975) to US Airborne, an Airborne-specific Shock Infantry for USA. ![]()
